Phillip Spicer, 88, of Lake Wales, Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at AdventHealth Lake Wales.

Born on November 11, 1937, in New Castle, Indiana, Phillip lived a life filled with adventure, hard work, and an unwavering love for his family. He shared many wonderful years with his beloved wife, Gerri, and together they raised their daughter, Tina, in Jacksonville, Florida. Later, they relocated to the mountains of Alabama, where Phillip built a home for Tina and another for himself and Gerri, creating a place where countless family memories were made. Tina later married and lovingly adopted her daughter, Lauren, adding another generation to the family Phillip cherished.

As a young man, Phillip proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Following his honorable military service, he built a successful career as a sales representative for a glass company. His adventurous spirit even led him to spend time as a race car driver, embracing the thrill of the open track as enthusiastically as he embraced every chapter of his life.

After the passing of his beloved wife and daughter, Phillip returned to Florida to live with his son, Richard Diaz, where he enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought him the greatest happiness—spending time on the water fishing and boating. Two years before his passing, he was blessed to welcome his daughter, Regina Napoleon, into his life, creating a meaningful relationship that became one of his greatest joys.

Phillip was a wonderful storyteller whose countless memories reflected a life well lived. His adventures, humor, and experiences left lasting impressions on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Whether sharing stories from his military service, career, travels, or everyday life, he had a remarkable gift for making others laugh and reminding them to appreciate life's journey.

Phillip leaves behind his loving son, Richard Diaz; his daughter, Regina Napoleon; his granddaughter, Lauren; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gerri, and his cherished daughter, Tina.

A Celebration of Phillip's Life will be announced at a later date.
